Centrally located established manufacturer seeking candidates for a Cost Accountant role that is open due to growth.

Selected candidate will maintain cost accounting system and perform moderate to complex cost accounting assignments such as ledger/account maintenance and inventory control. Develop inventory analysis reports and analyze variances by comparing budgeted costs to actual production costs. Reconcile inventory accounts to the general ledger and assist in the improvement of internal controls related to inventory.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• • Perform cost-accounting activities covering material and production costs, costs of sales, product development, overhead, through finished goods.
• • Monitor and adjust coding related to inventories and costing of purchased material.
• • Assist in month-end closing, prepare journal entries as necessary, and analyze inventory evaluation.
• • Analyze variances by comparing budgeted costs to actual production costs. Build relationships with departments that affect inventory and cost of sales. Ensure their information is received timely and accurately.
• • Prepare, analyze, and report monthly analysis by brand and collection.
• • Ensure timely submission, accuracy, and validity of schedules to management.
• • Research and reconcile discrepancies.
• • Partner with Cost Accounting Manager or Senior Cost Accountant in preparing monthly journal entries for inventory, production and cost of sales.
• • Monitor physical inventories and cycle count program.
• • Respond to inquiries from the CFO, Controller, and other managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests and other special projects as assigned.
• • Support and work with the Controller to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit.
• • Other duties as assigned to contribute to department and organization needs.

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.  Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of Cost Accounting experience. 

Experience in Microsoft Office - Outlook, Intermediate to Advanced Excel, Word, Access, Query, Microsoft AX.
